Temple of Zeus

The temple was built by the Eleans between c. 470 and 456 B.C. and was dedicated to Zeus. In 426 A.D., the temple was burnt and started falling apart from earthquakes. Restoration of the temple is still in progress and part of the decorations can be found in the Olympia Archeological Museum.

The Ionian Islands is a group of islands near central Greece. One popular activity is swimming in the sea caves. There are many caves on most of the islands. There are also many popular water sports such as windsurfing and scuba diving.
